Well, I have not heard of that game, and I bet most people haven't either. The most popular and well known games are form Atari, Activision, Eidos, EA, Ubisoft, etc. (all of those big name companies), and all the games from them cost $50 (except for GBA games, which cost $30, and this game, Warfare, is better than most GBA games, especially graphics and sound wise).

That could be a problem with an m505...also, you would probably appreciate Warfare more if you played it on an OS5 device too, you should consider getting one, such as teh Zodiac, which is really cheap for its quality.

You've never heard of Daikatana? John Romero's pet project? Possibly the most anticipated game of all time? It was actually developed by Eidos, which you listed above.

Edit: Sorry, developed by Ion Storm, distributed by Eidos.

Ehh.... I dunno... My m505 is a great little PDA. Also, I'm afraid that if I go PDA shopping, I might end up with a PocketPC... Sad

This game is worth every penny of $30, and more. I was more than happy to plunk down my cash for it. It's going to give me more gaming satisfaction than many PC/console titles I've been foolish enough to pay more for.

How much time do you think this game will provide you entertainment? My guess is that I'll be playing this for many hours to come (especially once skirmish mode hits). I shudder to think at how much of my life has been blown playing C&C. Laughing The way I see it, any time you're getting more hours of entertainment out of something than it took to work to pay for it, you're in the good.

This game is truly unique. I'd been looking for a good Palm game for a few months before I found this (and did not expect to find anything of this caliber!). Comparing it to Bejeweled or Tetris really isn't fair--they're just puzzle games who can't hold a candle to this action.

Nothing in life's free, and the good stuff will cost you more. The folks who made this game realized there was a huge untapped market wanting exactly this, and took the pains to provide it. I only hope my 30 bucks is buying someone a steak dinner for a job well done. Very Happy

Daikitana..... Laughing Laughing Laughing

:sigh:

Quintessence, you've made some really good points.. even I know when my argument turns to crap.

I suppose it is worth $30, if you look at the fact that almost every other game on Palm is a boring puzzle game.

Either way, I'm glad I own it.

PP: Thank you! Smile

I wasn't trying to shred your 'argument', just expressing my views on the subject. (I try not to 'fluff' post, only when I think I have something to say worth reading.)

Ultimately, being satisfied with the purchase is the objective. I'm glad it's turned out to be worthwhile for you. (Certainly has for me! Very Happy )

Strictly by the numbers, I worked @3 hrs to pay for this game. I've already got at least 3 times that myself out of it this week alone, not counting what everyone else has just checking it out. It's been a tough week for the Clie, battery draining to nothing on a daily basis. "Runs for weeks on 1 charge" says Sony. Laughing Whatever.

I was hesitant myself about getting the game. same reason - $30 is a bit high for a palm game, here's a little logic for ya'. the 'craft games (starcraft-warcraft) are what all of us here are after for our palms. 10 times the programing went into those games, and true, they can be bought for $30. they also sell close to a million copies, so they can afford to sell them so cheap. these guys probably won't sell that many copies because of the smaller customer base. they have to charge more per manhour to make thier profit. comparitively, starcraft would have to sell for $300 dollars if it were sold at the same volume as this program. I use engineering programs that cost more than a new car (a Kia) because of they small customer base. you are also paying for the cutting edge of palm programing - you get what you pay for.

That is my modo(?), I will never buy anything cheap, especially if you know all of the other competitors are selling it for expensive, then you just know it is crap. If I have to save longer, oh well, because it will just last longer.

I am in the middle on this. I think $30 is VERY expensive for this game.

Graphics etc.. mean nothing if the game does not PLEASE ME. if the game does not give me lots of usage etc..

right now it does not do that at all.

do not get me wrong. the graphics are wonderful etc.. but how long will I enjoy it ? I have put about 3 hours into the game so far on and off and am half way through it.

I figure at this rate I have MAYBE a month before I beat it and it becomes road kill. IE never played again.

I have a problem playing the same thing over and over again. it bores me.

So why did I pay SO MUCH for such a VERY limited game.

First sadly its the only game in town. (ONLY decent RTS and may be the ONLY rts for palm)

also just got a new zodiac so its something I can do on the zodiac.

etc.. etc..

the biggest reason. I am gambling that the authors will pay up so to speak with updates missions and UBER importantly skirmish modes.

this would make it well worth $30.

I have paid over $100 for a game (MANY copies of Red Alert 2 with yuri upgrade) and still think its a bargain and then again I have paid $20 for a game and felt ripped off.

Example. I just got an RC helicopter game for my PS1. AWESOME GAME.

I think I got RIPPED at $15. their is absolutely ZERO replayability. I did all their was to do in 3 hours and thats it.

$30 is for the average person 3 HOURS Of their LIFE. 3 HOURS of their blood and sweat.

that is NOT an insignificant thing. you can call peopel cheap all you want.

WHen YOU are working MY hours and GIVING me the paycheck for yoru work then you can call me cheap. I work very hard for the little bit of money that I have.

$30 is a BIG invenstment for a game (I am very much not a gamer so its even bigger for me)

I DO NOT buy most new games because I simply can not justify $40 to $50 for a game.

Same with my Game Boy SP. I simply can not see paying $30 for a game etc..

their are exceptions. Advance Wars rocks. (IT HAS SKIRMISH !!!)

Red Alert. paid $80 for that game initially. $55 for the "special edition version with DVD and Figuring) and $20 for the "yuri upgrade"

add tax etc.. and its $80

I STILL PLAY THAT GAME TODAY. it has nearly limiteless playability.

its hard to find good online play anymore with people interested only in tank rushing for ladder points. (Dark Reign was an awesome C&C style game that made tank rushing VERY hard) I loved that game.

I still play it as well.

Unless you have a PC version that is interoperable the palm version multiplayer is all but useless right now. I could be wrong. maybe their are more localized palm users than I am aware of.

Skirmish mode is far more important. I paid the IMO huge fee of $30 for this game for 1 reason. I want to support the authors in the hopes that they will come through with updates skirmish modes new versions etc.. etc.. its a gamble but I think a good one.

AS IS. if I were to assume nothing else ever was coming this game most definately is NOT worth $30

$15 maybe. thats my opinion. it is my right because it MY money. I work hard for it.

I am confident they will update it though so I was willing to shell out $30.

Also I sale shop. I got Rise of Nations (quite a nice game actually) for $30 the same month (maybe withing 14 days) of release.

Compusa had it onsale for one day.

I have only paid full price IE over $40 for 2 games. Red Alert 2 and Unreal Tournamet 2003.

$45 and $50 is just in general too much money for a game to me.
