How about having an IR multiplayer for PalmOS v4 and below?? As they do not have bluetooth, it is not able to play the multplayer mode! That would be even more attractive to older palm users?
Warfare Rox! Just keep playing...... _________________ Obssesed with Warfare Incorporated |

There have been many posts about this and the conclusion was that it would be too impractical. For example, (**here's the techmical part-you can skip it if the previous was enough**) to communicate from your device to your friend's that one of your units had moved two millimeters, at least two sets of coordinates, one for the original position and another for the final position. Both of which would require at least 4, if not more, numbers and multiple IR bursts for each number. Now just imagine trying to control a small (or even large) army. Then they have to fight your friend's army and all of that info would have to be exchanged (thus far I've only talked about a one sided exchange), and that doesn't even include keeping track of health status and everything else I'm forgetting.
**you can start reading again**
Simply put, way too much info for IR. Hope this helps.

actually, standard infrared, or SiR, has a speed about 115 Kb/s. Some handhelds may have fast infrared, or FiR, which has a speed of 1.5 Mb/s. Bluetooth also has a speed of 1.5 Mb/s, so if a handheld has FiR, then it is possible to play a game via iR. I am sure a Palm without os 5 wont have FiR, altough pocket pc may be a different question. BTW if you can play over the internet vs. someone with a 56 Kb/s modem, as stated on warfareinc.tk, then Sir should be fine as well, but as the majority of new handhelds have wireless integrated, adding support for old iR is almost worthless _________________ Handhelds:
