A Free Radical General has become a traitor. He has fed intel to ACME, which allowed them to kick the Free Radicals off Icarus the first time. The Free Radicals are back, and are bent on his assasination. A simple base inspection will spell doom for the men and women that follow him.

Awesome concept! Took me a couple tries to beat it. Man, when I inspected that base, I expected to be waging a huge war of attrition with little hope of winning, with all those commandos I was facing... not so! A few well-placed takovers and I was quickly in control of about seventy-five percent of the map. That remaing twenty-five percent, however, was a BIG twenty-five percent!
Some pros and cons:
Pros:
Great concept! Kinda felt like the Dirty Dozen!
At first I thought that limiting what the player could build was a bad idea for taking on a base of this size and sophistication, but it really shows what those cheaper units can do, with the right tactics! (Once again the Eagle shines out as my favorite anti-commando weapon-of-choice!)
Great layout! Gonzale's base was challenging to maneuver through, but not impossible!
Just enough galaxite in the field. I finished the mission with about five thousand credits left, or just enough to build one more full regiment of Broadswords (Plus their obligatory Eagle escorts!)
TONS of fun! I felt like a real David to the proverbial Goliath, and victory was that much sweeter for it!
Free Radicals, of course!
Cons:
Cyan was the only color you could have used for the traitor's troops, but unfortunately it lights up the mini map like a Christmas Tree, so any "surprises" you may have planned really stood out!
Raiders are S L O W @! The mission tended to drag quite a bit during the beginning, where they were performing their "inspection." Another alternative might be to start them out in a not-so-populated area of Gonzale's base, vise in the southwest corner at the hill. That way they could get right to work, and any of those surprises mentioned above have a better chance of being surprises, as the player is not so tempted to explore anything but the base! (Until I said that, of course! Um, oops?) Also, what about a time limit on the inspection? Sooner or later, Gonzale is bound to get suspicious!
Once I moved the commando off the platform and revealed my intentions, Gonzale's units never moved to attack or even patrol. It was nothing to move my commandos into the base, take out all the units in the less populated center, and have my raiders take over key buildings and start building my army right under Gonzale's nose! A few extra raiders later and half the base was mine without firing a single shot! Maybe for hard level you could include a trigger that moved the units from one area of the base to another periodically, just to keep the player on his or her toes.
You might be a little clearer in the beginning regarding the goal of assasinating Gonzale. I spent alot of time taking over one building after another, thinking he was hinding in a single building. It was only after a few saves and reloads that I went back and re-read the mission objectives and realized that I had to destroy the entire base. Part of the problem was the "Assasinate Gonzale" Mission text that stayed in the upper left corner of the screen. I kept thinking that was my immediate next objective.
Overall, a truly entertaining level and a very praiseworthy effort! I look forward to playing it again (After work, maybe ) BTW: Is this the movie scene mission you were talking about? What movie?

Thanks to your feedback, I have moved the Raiders, added a time limit on inspection, and created a Gonzale patrol group. I have also removed the text in the upper-left corner.
As for the movie scene, I got bored with it and gave up. Maybe in a while I'll get back to it :

I second the feelings expressed by PhillipEarl -- this was a great mission! The only things that would make this more challenging would be:
1) more aggressive enemies - once I captured a few strategic buildings, I was able to pick the enemy off one by one.
2) Also, giving a "bonus" of 99,999 credits when taking over a storage container made this way too easy; I was able to build an army of formidable size without even having to mine for galaxite
That said, this was a highly entertaining mission, with excellent layout and a very great premise.

Not a bad mission at all. As mentioned before, there are certainly ways to make it more challenging, but you had to stop the development somewhere.
Good job and I look forward to your next challenge.

Don't make it harder! It took me three times to work out a strategy. My strategy is to get a raider to the HQ at the right, warehouse/human resource center about halfway through the base, and a unit-building building at the left. Use the HQ to build more human/vehicle centers and use those. When you have the centers, keep pumping out broadswords. They will get killed in less than a second, but eventually the enemy army will wear down. When you have a clear area and a good army, DESTROY THE ENEMY CENTERS!!! The second time I played, the computer rebuilt its giant army and wiped my buildings out, ending my game. But the third time, I sent my units to destory the centers, not the units near it, and then the computer was "paralyzed" with nothing but security guards an rocket troopers. From there, I took out the armies that lay wait in and out of the base, and won.
Great level! I'm so, so glad the bad guys ignore your buildings! No one would win that way!

"Don't make it harder?" It took three times? It took me once and I finished it in about 20 minutes. You gave us way too many Andys and credits. You should have the units attack the FR base or something. Also maybe the map is too big. Maybe add some cliffs or roads in the center.

Don't make it harder. I still hold true to that statement. Everything I do, I'm always a newb at heart...
