The computer is much better and faster at controlling individual elements on the battlefield than we will ever be able to do. But when we let the units act on their own, they often do extremely stupid things. If I build a choke point with turrets on the way to my Headquarters and put a couple of safety units near for protection, they have a habit of walking infront of the turrets to engage the enemy. The point of having the turrets is to thin the masses as they come through. When the safety units walk in front the enemy engage them out of turret range.
Even if I am managing the battle with this specific example, I can pull units back that start walking forward, and lowen be hold, here the come again. Either I move them so far back that they can't engage quick enough or they constantly move into the battle.
That being said or babbled off, it would be nice if we were somehow able to set the aggressive nature of certain grouped units. |
