unlimiteds with an open field have never resulted in a stalemate for me... after all theres no point holding back your units, which is the usual cause of a stalemate. this is why i love unlim maps, no holding back, just pure speed and strategy.

actually ive been in a stalemate in tight budget. because the map is so big, no one wants to send out the forces in fear that they could get attacked. Its not really unlimited but its close to it if the game goes on for more than 3mins.

on the other hand unlim maps can go on for ages, espeically when they are evenly matched. For example i played yatsu once in crazy 1v1 and it lasted for more than an hour, of hardcore playing. For the record i actually won Very Happy

The longest stalemate I ever had was when I tested my first build of MILES Laser Tag. The game went well over an hour and I just resigned lol.
