|
|
Hi
1) I bought Warfare Inc online when it first came out (ie, NOT in store)
2) How do I install v 1.1 (These instructions would be helpful to post)
3) If I have to uninstall v 1.0 then what about my saved games?
4) How do I save my old save games?
5) Will they work in version 1.1? |

I would be very careful before you install V1.1. I mistakenly assumed that this would be an upgrade to V1.0 but it appears that it has overwritten the entire game including saved games.
I might also add that I have yet to be able to play V1.1 since my serial number seems to be invalid for this update. I have reinstalled V1.1 twice now to no avail. I am awaiting a reply from Handago to see what the problem is.
Cheers

I can tell you this: old save games will not work on V1.1 _________________ Why negotiate when you can just blow things up?

Old save games are not compatible with v1.1 due to a platform change to ARM cpu. However you can access any mission and start where you left off by doing this:
Play Mission -> Play Story Mission _________________ Warfare Incorporated Development Team |

This is happening for users of v1.0 originally purchased on CDROM. A new key is needed in this situation to upgrade to v1.1. Handmark is very aware of this and is working to streamline the process. Please visit:

Holy crap... here I was about to upgrade to 1.1 and I read this.
YOU CAN'T USE OLD SAVE GAMES?
As a programmer myself, this astounds me. Can someone PLEASE explain to me why something which should just contain data about the game state should need to CHANGE because some ARM optimizations were added to the engine?
And WHY, if this was truly necessary, code couldn't have been added to convert those of us already on 1.0 to the new format?
That's like saying that the Mac version of Photoshop requires you to update all your Windows JPEGs. C'mon.
And finally, after busting my rear to get to M8... what's the difference between doing levels via "NEW GAME" and going to a level direct via PLAY CHALLENGE/STORY MISSION? What will I be missing out on?
This is a remarkable game... it is likewise remarkable that they should make such a bizarre and user-unfriendly decision as to render savegames completely unusable in the event of an upgrade. There are plenty of better ways this could have been handled. All this accomplishes is to piss off the users. |

You can start from any mission by doing:
Play Mission -> Play Story Mission.
There is no need to begin the entire campaign over. _________________ Warfare Incorporated Development Team |
