i dont think you should do anything other then quarantine the map until its fair.
changing the rules so high ranked players get 1 point is stupid cause i dont know how many times scottlu has posted how the point system works and now your changing it cause a few people want it. and how long have you been thinking of making the change
not everyone is like berly where they can play every map and win 99% of the time.
alot of the top5 players at any given time on the leader board who cant gain 1 point in a match stick to 1 map so why are you only helping them? they dont make up a big percentage of the players who acturaly use the leaderboard as it was intended to be used for. i see no point _________________ Things I'm proud of...

I decided to look at it a different way - there is little harm in trying it, and if it turns into a problem, the problem can be addressed.
Regarding the 3v1 map, I believe it is a scoring problem that occurs on any map where there are three on a team against one other player. _________________ Warfare Incorporated Development Team |

You misunderstand, dude.
Match pst or system pst Not only for high player, its plus 1pst for all player who win in every match.
Do you ever get 0pst by ur rating? This will prevent it.
And I think people like at least 1pst than none.
Will you ask about skill ? Or only play to get 1pst?
If no skill or strong, they cant win.
If they win for 1pst, many other player also have the same.
So this FAIR to all.You will keep many players in active. Because you make this game for play, not for chat only.
About map 3vs1, I think you see the problem, I wont talk about that.

I dont know i have never been number 1 on the leaderboard and i have never stayed on one map for more then 2 days so i dont understand they way your thinking.
All i know is that its 1 point vs 5 points or more if you go after players instead of waiting for someone to join.
But to each their own i guess _________________ Things I'm proud of...

I found the 3v1 scoring problem, fixed it and deployed the fix. Let me know if you see problems.
The problem was: assume you have 3 who win, with scores 1300, 2219, and 1955 vs a player with score 1538.
In the old system, the scores of the winners were averaged together, bring the average score down to 1824. This means a win yields more points. Then the share of the points given to each winner is based on kill contribution (kills / total kills). So if 2219 got most of the kills, 2219 would get most of the points.
So the point making strategy would be for a highly ranked player to play with 2 anons (1300) against a 4th player. This would make the average score average way down, making it closer to the enemy player, which due to how ELO works yields more points on a win. If the 2 anons did nothing, then the highly ranked player would get all the points. It's essentially like playing a 1v1 game with a lower rank, and thereby you get more points when you win.
The fix is to not based the aggregate score on the average rank, but instead make it a weighted sum based on kill contribution. For example if 89% of the kills came from the 2219 score player, then that player's contribution to the team score will be 2219 * .89. This basically makes the team score reflect the score of the players who contributed kills.
This weighted score then goes into the ELO calculation, then points are awarded based on kill contribution for each player.
This fixes the scoring flaw. Thanks for reporting it.

Please have patience, I'm trying to help. The code was written, tested and deployed. If you tell me which game you played today where you won yet gained zero points, I will look into it and find out why.
