There really should be someone who can go through all of the add on packs that are posted and delete the crap ones that don't work or are just lousy. Nothing worse than downloading and opening them to find out the author put no effort into them.

Yeah, I've thought about that before. The thing is, there's roughly 1800 attachments in Mission Sharing. And each attachment could have between 1 - 15 maps in it. So it could be quite a task going through them and then determining which maps are "good" and which maps are "bad".

If you run across any such bad maps, feel free to post about it on this topic and I can look into it Smile

Okay. Will do. There's a ton of them. I'll make notes and let you know.

Let's do it then. Go through and download and test and make a note of the substandard ones and we'll post our lists here.

Alright, I'll keep a running list on this post as I play through the maps. Just so you know, I'm working bottom up.If you are unsure why I listed a map here, just ask.

Do you want to go from the top on the add on mission list as they appear on our device and I'll start from the bottom? That will be a lot of scrolling I guess but it should work.

Sorry. I just realized that you're doing bottom up. I'll start from the top then.

You can sort the add-ons pack list by title, number of players, and number of missions. Those rearranged lists can also be inverted. At the top of the download mission pack form, tap "Title", "Players", or "Missions" to sort the list as such.

As long as you give the mission's title and the title of the pack it is in, it won't be difficult to find.

Chances are, most (but not necessarily all) of the garbage maps will be in single-mission-packs. So I would look there first instead of downloading packs with 15 missions and attempting to play all of them.

Sorry. Me again. Last post today, I swear.
What criteria should we use for garbage? Obviously if the map crashes or if there is nothing but a black screen that's a good reason.
What about if we have a huge fogged map and there is only one unmoving Dominion or a couple of soldiers doing nothing hiding in a corner and that's it? These maps are a waste of time, don't you think?
Or if you finally kill everything after an hour and there are no objectives and the game doesn't end? I hate doing a big battle and having to abort after all of my effort.
N104!!!, what do you think?
One line of thought is that even if we hate a map and we think it sucks perhaps someone did put genuine effort into it and is proud of it?

Yes, if the map isn't playable for some reason (such as the human player having no units) or the map crashes (which rarely happens) then it's probably garbage. Also, every map should have some way for the human player to win (and lose too), so if you run across a map with no end-mission triggers for the human side, that's probably garbage too.

If you think the map is a waste of time but you aren't sure, feel free to still post its title and pack title. I'll review your list and look at the map's quality before removing it from the add-ons list Smile

I was really digging this one ReclaimBase by idioticfuse. It's really well done and lots of action. However, when I've killed everyone and destroyed everything it doesn't end. Shame.
